The Veterans Administration Rural Health Mobile Medical Outreach Clinic Team, in collaboration with the Escalon American Legion Riders Post 263, will be making a stop in the area next week.

All military veterans are encouraged to attend, with the clinic team on site at the American Legion Riders Post, 1531 Second St., Escalon, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28.

No appointment necessary; Veterans Service Officers, enrollment specialists and a medical team will be on site.

The VA Palo Alto Health Care system mobile team will provide examinations, consultations and referrals. Veterans with questions about eligibility for medical or psychological services can have those questions answered and new benefits are also available for Vietnam and Iraq/Afghanistan veterans. If you are not currently in the VA Health Care System, bring an extra copy of your DD214 (discharge papers) to the clinic to attach to an enrollment form. Those attending should also bring a copy of their current medication list, where applicable, for the doctor to review.

Also at the clinic, volunteer Veterans Service Officers will be available to review benefits, assist veterans with enrollment forms and provide assistance with filing claims.

For more information, contact Mark Sward with the Escalon American Legion, 209-838-3050 or Valerie Gabriel at 209-588-2604.
