Stanislaus State Daybook Provides Community Update

The campus of Stanislaus State in Turlock is starting to get busy, though with many events still being hosted virtually. Following are some of the upcoming activities.

 

Spring Planning Guide

Gardening enthusiasts and plant lovers are invited to join Stan State’s Staff Council for a virtual planting demonstration in the University’s Agricultural Sustainable Garden from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 22. The live-streamed event features Stan State gardening specialist Martin Hildebrandt, who will offer viewers tips and techniques for gardening and achieving good results. A Q&A session will follow the planting demonstration. Register online.

 

Virtual Science Day

Join in on Saturday, April 24, for a very special virtual Science Day including activities for all ages streamed live on Zoom as well as pre-recorded activities you and your family can check out on-demand. The event is free and open to the public.

Theatre-Related Research

Eight Stanislaus State students, six graduate students and two undergraduates, will serve as delegates for the University during the California State University’s 35th Annual Student Research Competition. The systemwide competition, during which students will give virtual presentations on their research, takes place Thursday, April 30 and Friday, May 1.

 

Commencement

Stanislaus State will host on-campus commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2020 and the Class of 2021. The ceremonies will adhere to guidance issued by the California Department of Public Health.
