Stockton Campus Potential

Assistant Professor of Psychology Esteban Montenegro has embraced his role at the Stanislaus State Stockton Campus as one of five new full-time tenure track faculty members. “I believe we are an institution that has the power to do more. I’ve been scanning the area thinking about what I can do in research and intervention.”

Fulfilling the Need for Teachers

Keeping local K-12 schools staffed with quality teachers and administrators has been as much a part of Stanislaus State’s heritage as the Turlock fairgrounds and Warrior Pride. A nationwide teaching shortage is impacting the Central Valley, but Dean of the College of Education, Kinesiology and Social Work Brad Porfilio has a vision for attracting future teachers.

Annual State Convention

High school students from across the region came to Stan State Saturday, March 25, for the 49th Annual United Black Student Unions of California (UBSUC) State Convention. More than 125 students participated in workshops, went on campus tours and heard from Stan State students who shared their experiences of college life during the daylong event. The UBSUC is comprised of more than 60 Black Student Unions across California. Its goal is to inspire students toward leadership, entrepreneurship and college readiness.
