Community United Methodist Church in Oakdale is continuing with the first Saturday of the month special events at the church site, 1480 Poplar, Oakdale.
The format has been changed up a bit from last year and the name has also changed, with the gathering now being called the ‘Community Meet-Up.’ The goal is creating a place where people come to meet-up, whether it’s for food, fun, socializing or a little bit of each. There are tables for individuals or groups to host, with the large round tables designed for use to share a game, a craft, or sit and knit, do embroidery, crochet or paint, etc.
There are also tables set up just to come and eat.
Individuals or groups wanting to reserve a table are requested to e-mail in advance for more information and availability. The new e-mail address for more information is: MeetUpOakdale@gmail.com
The Market Place vendors, those coming in with a variety of items to sell, will be offered quarterly, with dates set so far for March 2 and June 1. Along with the vendor booths, tables will be available for individuals or groups to ‘meet-up’ and tables for enjoying lunch.
Hours will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the first Saturday event is scheduled for Feb. 3.
Chef Lee will continue cooking up items for breakfast and lunch each month.
Scheduled for February, Oakdale FB crafters will be hosting two tables. Local artist and art teacher Carol Earle’s painting group will be hosting a table along with a student art show.
For March 2, several vendors have already signed up to come with their crafts, vintage sewing machines, embroidery work, sweet treats, candles, original art, and more.
