REMINISCING

It was a happy reunion for two former co-workers recently at the Escalon Historical Society Museum on Main Street as Betty (Thompson) Applequist, left, and Roy Langum had the chance to do some reminiscing. Now 96 and living in Wyoming, Applequist made a trip back to the area and met up with Langum, who still lives in town and joked that he’s “only 87.” Both grew up in Escalon and they worked together at Central Valley National Bank – which later became Bank Of The West – from 1962 to 1973. Along with visiting, Applequist also enjoyed watching a new video put together at the museum, featuring some old-time photos that she was pictured in from past city events and gatherings.
