Regional Quarterfinal Volleyball Action In Escalon

Continuing their run in the postseason, the Escalon varsity volleyball girls will welcome Aptos to town for a Northern California state quarterfinal match on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m.

Escalon, the No. 3 seed in the Northern bracket, won its first round game over Sierra Pacific on Nov. 12 and prevailed in a 3-2 decision over No. 6 Lincoln of San Francisco on Nov. 14. The regional quarterfinal match, being hosted at Escalon High School, will see the Lady Cougars host the No. 7 seed Aptos team. Escalon now has an overall record of 31 wins, nine losses on the season and enters the quarterfinal match ranked 170th in the state.

Winner of Saturday’s match advances to the regional semifinals on Tuesday, Nov. 19. Match time for the semifinals is 6 p.m. Tuesday, with the location to be announced.

On the other side of the quarterfinal bracket on Saturday, No. 1 Alameda hosts No. 5 Tamalpais.
