Police Arrest One In Vehicle Theft

An early morning investigation on Monday, March 25 resulted in one arrest and the recovery of two stolen vehicles by Oakdale Police.

Police received a call shortly before 5:30 a.m. Monday regarding a stolen trailer out of Escalon, seen in the area of the 7-Eleven at 1138 W. F Street. When officers arrived on scene they discovered the stolen 14 foot Hallmark Trailer was hitched to a white Ford F-350 in the parking lot. The truck was occupied by a male driver later identified as Matthew Tobias Ayers, 32.

Upon further investigation, officers determined the white Ford F-350 occupied by Ayers was also reported stolen out of Jamestown. Ayers was subsequently arrested for Auto Theft, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Narcotics, and on two arrest warrants issued out of Tuolumne County and Oakdale Police Department.
