This month two of our Escalon FFA members showed at the California Youth Ag Expo.

Aiden Hohenwarter with one heck of a weekend says … “This past week I was reserve champion intermediate showman, reserve champion division 1 wether, and lastly reserve champion division 2 doe. This week meant a lot, I got to show my hard work at the state level. It took this whole year preparing by feeding, exercising, washing, and blowing, as well as working with coaches and breeders to get these animals ready. The show was very fun. I got to showcase what I do every day as well as hang out with my friends and have a lot of fun. I would like to say thank you to all that helped me.”

Congratulations, Aiden.

Molly Terpstra exhibited her prized slick steer, Slick Rick, at the 2022 California Youth Ag Expo in Tulare, California. She not only exhibited the Champion Slick Steer, but was chosen as the fifth overall steer in the show, making the sale at the event. He made history as the first slick steer to make it into the top five at CYAE since its inception. Molly also won senior beef showmanship and Champion Beef Showman Overall. To top off the week, Molly was named the 2022 Premier Beef Exhibitor.

Congratulations, Molly.
