Escalon Unified School District honored Angela Miranda as the Classified Employee of the Year for the 2019-2020 school year. The honor typically would have been presented at graduation.

Miranda has been a member of the Escalon Unified team since 2014, officials said in making the announcement. She started in food service and after one year moved to the Escalon High School office. She served as the receptionist there for two years and then moved to the Attendance Secretary position where she has been for the last three years.

“I wasn’t expecting that at all,” Miranda said. “It was amazing.”

Comments from her peers include: “She is very organized, thoughtful, professional and most importantly positive while serving the EHS community.” Another staff member shared: “Angela serves our community with a smile that is backed by a heart of gold.”

In presenting the award, district officials said Miranda is “an excellent example of a fantastic employee” who goes above and beyond for students, staff and community.
