aauw

The American Association of University Women, AAUW, Oakdale Riverbank Escalon branch sends selected seventh grade girls yearly from Oakdale, Riverbank, and Escalon to a math and science camp held at CSU Fresno. The community has generously supported the annual fundraiser that finances this program. The 2021 challenge was to convert this valuable hands-on camp into a virtual experience.

Coming up on Thursday, May 14 at 7 p.m. via Zoom, Dr. Mimi Isaac will give a brief presentation and demonstration of what the campers will experience. Dr. “Mimi” is a passionate practitioner-researcher focused on female engagement in engineering and technology following a long career in the global energy business. She continues to publish and present through a long list of engineering and teaching organizations. Her passion is focused on female engagement in engineering and technology.

ORE’s Tech Trek co-director Zoe Kilkenny says of her: “This is the amazing woman who tackled Zoom Tech Trek single handedly! I remain in awe of her tenacity.”
