TIME TO BLOOM
Blossoms pix

The recent warm weather has most of the almond orchards in bloom, including this one at the San Joaquin-Stanislaus county line along Highway 120 east of Escalon. Bees are buzzing and the annual show of blossoms has burst forth. The show might not last long, though, as rain is in the forecast over the next several days. Weather service forecasters were calling for rain and wind on Thursday as the calendar turns to March 1, with the rainy weather continuing both Friday and Saturday, March 2 and 3. Total accumulations could be over an inch of rain during the span, which could impact the blossoms but is needed to help the region get back to a more seasonal rainfall total.
