Venture Academy Family of Schools (VAFS) students who are part of the Venture’s Outstanding Leadership Team (VOLT) are hosting the third annual Jingle Bell Run with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Women’s Center Youth and Family Services.

This year VAFS is inviting the public to join the approximately 200 students, parents, and SJCOE staff expected to participate in the 5K fun run. Representatives from the shelter are also invited to attend and participate. Last year the students were able to donate more than $1,400 to the Women’s Center, along with a box of toys.

Registration for the event is $10. Participants can expect music and winter wonderland décor. Snacks and water will be provided for the runners. VOLT students will also be collecting donations of socks, canned food, and unopened hygiene products. The students chose to support the Women’s Center because it also provides support and housing for teens in need.

The Third Annual Jingle Bell Run is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 21 at Venture Academy Family of Schools Gymnasium, at the San Joaquin County Office of Education, 2814 Transworld Drive, Stockton.

Registration is at noon; the fun run starts at 12:30 p.m.

Venture Academy Family of Schools (VAFS) is chartered by the San Joaquin County Board of Education.
