The San Joaquin Handbell Ringers made their annual stop in Escalon on Saturday, the five-person troupe performing with both handbells and chimes to help local residents ring in the season.

The roughly hour-long performance also included a finale of singing a couple of Christmas carols, the bell ringers accompanying the audience, and then those attending had the chance to visit with the performers and see the instruments up close.

Refreshments were also provided and a variety of ages, children, parents and grandparents attended the festivities.

Members of the musical troupe include leader Jon Townsend, who offered bits of information about the instruments and the musical selections for the audience; LuAnn Radford, Sandi Walker-Tansley, Christina Snedden and Joanne Lindevald.
