Escalon High School welcomed veterans in for a special program on Friday afternoon, Nov. 8 and the community turned out on Monday, Nov. 11 for a downtown parade and a ceremony at the Community Center.

Observing Veterans Day on both occasions, the school program included a skit by students, a flag folding ceremony by the Escalon American Legion Post, recognition for veterans attending and more.

On the actual Veterans Day, festivities started with a 10:30 a.m. parade and continued with a service at the nearby Community Center. Also featured on Monday was the local Hula’s Restaurant serving free meals to veterans throughout the day.
