Rotary Club Pours On The Fun
food
Cheeses, sausages, fruits, all were available for snacking while sipping beer or wine at Saturdays annual Oktoberfest celebration hosted by the Escalon Sunrise Rotary Club.

Members of the Escalon Sunrise Rotary Club welcomed a large crowd to the Escalon Community Center late Saturday afternoon, Oct. 24, hosting their annual Oktoberfest celebration.

There was food, music, beer and wine, silent auction items and the chance to socialize with friends and neighbors at the event slated from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Information was also available about the club itself and the various community and international service projects it is involved with during the year.

The local Rotary meets each Thursday morning, 6:45 a.m., at the Escalon High School cafeteria and all proceeds raised through the various fundraisers go back into the club’s local, national and international projects.

Organizers said there were more silent auction items available this year than ever before – ranging from golf packages to pro sports items – and the event drew a diverse crowd, including some that came dressed in traditional German ‘Oktoberfest’-themed garb.
