Relay Meeting Set At Oak Valley Plaza
Relay Graphic

The next meeting for Team Captains for this year’s Relay For Life is scheduled for Wednesday, March 21 at the Oak Valley Medical Plaza, 1425 H St., Oakdale. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and lasts approximately one hour; the Event Leadership Team, ELT, provides much needed information about the Relay For Life at these sessions and anyone interested in learning more is welcome to attend.

Teams are still being sought for the upcoming Oakdale-Escalon-Riverbank-Waterford Relay For Life. The event will be hosted May 5 and 6 at the Oakdale High School soccer fields, bringing together teams from the communities for one centralized 24-hour American Cancer Society fundraising event. There is still time to form a team; come to the March 21 meeting and find out what Relay is all about. Help to ‘Finish the Fight’ against cancer and get involved in the fundraising and educational activities surrounding the 24-hour event.

Teams will also gather in their respective communities – Oakdale, Riverbank, Escalon and Waterford – on Saturday, April 21 to ‘Paint The Town Purple’ by tying purple ribbons around trees, sign posts and more to help advertise the Relay.

Also, mark the calendar and save the date for the Survivor Brunch. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 7 at 10 a.m. at the Oakdale Fire Department, 325 E. G St., Oakdale. This celebration for cancer survivors and their caregivers includes a brunch buffet, raffle prizes, sharing of stories and more.
