Caltrans is seeking input on the draft guidelines for the State of Good Repair (SGR) Program that will provide $105 million annually to the State Transit Assistance (STA) allocation, and will fund eligible transit maintenance, rehabilitation and capital projects.

Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 provides additional revenues for transit infrastructure repair and service improvements. SGR guidelines will describe the general policies and procedures in carrying out the reporting requirements and other statutory objectives of SB 1.

Caltrans will host two public workshops (one in Los Angeles, one in Sacramento) with the California State Transportation Agency to discuss the draft guidelines for the SGR Program, the Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program, and State Rail Assistance Program. The local workshop is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 2, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Caltrans Headquarters Building, 1120 N St., Sacramento.

The Sacramento workshop will also be webcast live at: http://ctmedia.dot.ca.gov/webcast/live/live_event.asp?stream=calsta. The link will be active about 10 minutes before the webcast is scheduled to start.

To view the draft guidelines visit http://www.dot.ca.gov/drmt/spstasgr.html. Caltrans also welcomes written comments and questions regarding the draft guidelines; send comments to SB1SGRcomments@dot.ca.gov no later than Thursday, Oct. 5.

Senate Bill 1 invests approximately $54 billion over the next decade to fix roads, freeways and bridges and puts more dollars toward transit and safety. For complete details on SB 1 visit http://www.rebuildingca.ca.gov/.
