Local service organization Soroptimist International of Oakdale is accepting applications for its annual Live Your Dream Award and Scholarship Award.

Live Your Dream Award: The Live Your Dream Award is the signature project of Soroptimist International of the Americas. Each year, the program provides cash grants to head-of-household women so they can achieve their career goals by completing their education or job training. Eligible applicants are women who provide the primary financial support for her dependents including children, spouse, siblings, and/or parents. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be enrolled in, or have been accepted to, a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program. Soroptimist International of Oakdale will award cash grants in the amount of $1,000 for first place and $500 for second place.

Scholarship Award: $3,000 in scholarships will be awarded to graduating female seniors that reside within the 95361 zip code with a minimum GPA of 3.0, a demonstrated financial need, who is committed to community service, and whose past and/or future plans and goals are aligned with the Soroptimist mission of improving the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Girls planning to attend college including a technical or trade school are encouraged to apply.
