The San Joaquin County Department of Aging: Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is seeking volunteers to assist people residing in long-term care facilities.
The Ombudsman Volunteers are trained and state-certified to investigate and resolve problems for residents in long-term care facilities. They also serve as mediators, resolving complaints on residents’ rights, financial matters and abuse issues, dietary needs, exploitation, neglect, Advanced Health Care Directives and other concerns.
Training sessions are scheduled for October 2017 which will involve 40 hours over a two-week period.
