Livermore Track Hosts Memorial Ride

A ‘memorial ride day’ benefit for the family of Drew Eldredge is planned at one of his favorite spots to ride, Club Moto in Livermore.

The special event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; a rescheduled date from the original Feb. 8 gathering, postponed due to rain.

The day is designed to help raise money for the Eldredge family, with the 21-year-old’s funeral held this past weekend. The Escalon resident passed away on Monday, Feb. 3 from injuries sustained in a mid-January auto accident.

His father, Don Eldredge, said they are hoping for a big turnout at the Feb. 15 gathering, as they look to celebrate Drew’s life and share in one of his passions, motocross riding.

“Club Moto Livermore, he rode a lot there and he’s gone to all the tracks in northern California,” Eldredge said of his son. “He was a top dog.”

A calendar listing on the club’s website indicates that Club Moto will donate 20 percent of the fees from all entries on the day and 100 percent of all $5 spectator fees for the day to the family.

There will also be a barbecue, T-shirt sales, and drawings for a variety of raffle items.

“There will be people from all ‘tracks’ of life,” added Eldredge. “It’s a memorial get together, anybody can come.”

Eldredge said that despite the tragedy, the family is appreciative of the efforts on their behalf.

“We thank everybody for their support because there has been a bunch,” he said.
