Soroptimist International of Oakdale hosted its annual Motor Madness fundraiser on Saturday, March 25 at the Gene Bianchi Community Center. Over 250 guests enjoyed a delicious variety of hors d’oeuvres and desserts as well as beer and wine tasting. Don Light of Oakdale won the Grand Door Prize and will select from either a new Harley Davidson motorcycle or $10,000 cash.

This year’s theme was “Disco.” Oakdale resident and professional entertainer Rob Ely served as the emcee and performed popular disco era songs throughout the evening. Debbie Carreira was selected as Best Dressed Disco Queen and Tom Phillips and Mike Swenson tied as Best Dressed Disco Dudes.

Proceeds from the Motor Madness ticket sales and opportunity drawings benefit Soroptimist programs for women and girls as well as local community projects. The members of Soroptimist would like to thank those that purchased tickets and provided gifts, donations, and support for this event.
