Escalon Covenant Church will be hosting an Independence Day Celebration on Sunday, July 2 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Escalon’s Hogan-Ennis Park, adjacent to the Community Center. After offering this celebration for a number of years now, the church took a one-year break from it in 2016 but are having it again and are excited to welcome the community to the celebration.

There will be a BBQ, bounce houses, games, face painting, watermelon eating contest, sno cones and more. It is open to anyone in the community. Dinner will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The suggested donation ticket price is $3 per person with a $10 maximum charge per family. Tickets can be purchased at Escalon Covenant Church or online at escaloncovenant.org. Also any on duty firefighters, police or EMS personnel are invited to come and eat dinner for free.

Those planning to attend are also urged to bring their lawn chairs, and to stay around for the fireworks at the end of the evening. The show will feature a variety of the Safe and Sane fireworks that the church will have for sale at their fundraising fireworks booth, set up in the parking lot at the church, 1155 Escalon Ave.
