Shoppers and diners made their way through classrooms at the Farmington United Methodist Church on Saturday, with the annual holiday bazaar and soup luncheon hosted at the site.

“I go every year,” said Stockton resident Diane Dooley, seeking out some holiday gift giving items. “My mom grew up in Farmington so coming here is like a reunion, we get to see friends.”

Dooley was looking over the wide variety of handcrafted items brought to the bazaar by Anita Cota of Stockton.

“This is my third year here,” said Cota. “I bring my goodies, I have a friend who belongs to the church here and this is one of the shows I do.”

Oakdale resident Nikita Smith had 19 different varieties of jams and jellies to sell, along with homemade salsa. She and her mother, Becky Officer, both had items for sale.

“We do this one and the show in Riverbank,” Officer noted.

Georgia Freitas of Escalon has attended the bazaar for the past few years as a shopper but this time was participating, having some items to sell herself.

“I just decided I wanted to get rid of a lot of material,” she explained. “I started sewing up a storm.”

Other wares available for sale included baked goods, tatting items, knitted goods and more.

Shoppers could also enjoy any of a number of hot, fresh soups served up to help ward off the November chill at the luncheon.

Proceeds from the annual bazaar help support the church and its various mission projects.
