High School Schedules Open House, Ag Day
EHS 2

Escalon High School is a busy place this week, with the ongoing Arts Alive showcase of student artwork set up in the old gym, an Open House set for Wednesday evening and an Ag Day slated for Friday.

The Open House for the community will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. this evening, Wednesday, March 22 and will provide the chance for residents to view the artwork on display in the old gym and meet with school administrators.

The Arts Alive event, hosted each year, includes artwork from every school site in the district, from every grade level. Classes have the opportunity to come in from the outlying schools and tour the display throughout the week, as well as take part in a number of art activities overseen by student volunteers from El Portal and Escalon High schools.

Officials at the school also are involved this week with a mid-cycle WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) visitation, March 20 through 22.

Meanwhile, with National Ag Week being observed March 19 through 26, the high school will host Ag Day for high school and middle school students on the EHS campus on Friday, March 24 with a variety of presenters and exhibitors scheduled to come in for the day. High School principal Eric Simoni said the goal is to “promote agriculture” and showcase the various career opportunities the field provides.
