Escalon Lions Club kicked off its Friday night ‘pre-cruise’ events at Hula’s restaurant on Friday evening, June 2, with the Friday night classic car gatherings set to run through the summer, leading up to the annual Autumn Cruise on Saturday, Sept. 9. The opening event drew a large crowd and also featured music by DJ Gene Adams, prizes and a 50-50 drawing. This year will be the 24th for the Autumn Cruise, with proceeds benefitting Escalon High School scholarships. The pre-cruise Friday nights run from 5 pm. to 7:30 p.m.
