Escalon letter carriers will be collecting food, as well as distributing the mail, on Saturday, May 13 in the annual ‘Stamp Out Hunger’ food drive.

Local residents are encouraged to place bags of non-perishable food items by their mailbox in the morning, for postal service workers to pick up during the day. Locally, all the donations will help stock the shelves of the local C.A.R.E. food cupboard, which provides food for those in need in the Escalon and Farmington communities.

Fliers with information about the food drive will be going out to postal customers a few days in advance of the May 13 drive as well, reminding them of the drive and seeking donations.
