At a recent Scholarship Dinner hosted by the Farmington Fire Department, the FFD Volunteers presented five $1000 scholarships to several Escalon High School graduates.

Recipients were Jacob Alvarado, Samantha Briggs, Cydney Keener, Brandon Levin and Rowan Murphy. All but Briggs were in attendance at the dinner; she was in Haiti with her sister volunteering in the Hands to Feet project assisting in building a home for a local family and supporting an orphanage there.

Fire department officials said this was the first time they hosted a family night dinner celebration to present the scholarships and were pleased to have four of the five recipients there to enjoy the evening.
