The Escalon Community Pool will open for the summer on Monday, June 6 and hours will be Monday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost is $2 per person and swim passes are available at City Hall.
Along with the public swim hours, there will be three sessions of swimming lessons offered. Each two-week session is available at a number of levels and there are both a Mommy & Me and an Adult swim as well.
Session 1 runs June 13 through 23; Session 2 from June 27 to July 8 (no class on July 4) and Session 3 runs from July 11 through 21. Level 1 is designed for 3 to 5-year olds; Level 2 for 4 to 6-year-olds; Level 3 is for ages 6-plus, with Levels 4, 5 and 6 dependent on successful completion of the prior level.
Mommy & Me classes are Tuesday and Thursday only at noon, Adult lessons are Monday through Thursday at noon. Fee per session for youth lessons is $40 for the first child, $30 for each additional child in the same family. Adult lessons are $40; Mommy & Me cost is $35. Deadline to register is 4 p.m. Friday prior to the start of the next session.
Those hoping to enroll for the first session must sign up by Friday, June 10.
Also during the summer, a couple of special Saturday programs, Discover Scuba, are offered. Aquatic Discount Scuba provides this introduction to scuba diving with the cost set at $15 and the program designed for ages 10 and above. Register at the city’s Recreation Department at 2060 McHenry Ave.; classes are planned Saturday, June 25 and Saturday, July 23, 10 a.m. to noon at the pool.
