Escalon 4-H Excelled At 2016 AgFest

In their first year at the AgFest, Escalon 4-H had 77 members attend and exhibit their projects at the 2016 event. Those projects included Dairy Cattle, Dairy Goats, Sheep, Beef, Swine, Turkeys, Breeding and Market Boar Goats and Breeding and Market Rabbits. Members also displayed their Entomology projects and their Horticulture projects. Names are spelled as provided by 4-H officials.

There were 28 exhibitors displaying their Dairy Cattle. They received Champion Club Group. Some members of the dairy project participated in the Dairy Knowledge Bowl and placings were 1st with Emma Borba, Vivian Borba, Tatiana Martinez and Josina Weststeyn; 3rd place was a tie with Garrett Bryan, Amelia Nevarez, Mikayla Egan, Thaison Mitchell, Tyler Medina, Colton Bryan, Kelsey Webster, Haylee Castro and Logan Webster. Escalon 4-H also had a team enter and compete in the first ever Livestock Knowledge Bowl. Those participating were Emma Borba, Vivian Borba, Josina Weststeyn and Danielle Niegro from Live Oak 4-H.
