Drug Drop Event Saturday In Escalon
escalon-police-department

Got Drugs? You can take advantage of an opportunity to turn in your used or expired medications for safe disposal this Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Escalon Police Department.

One of several sites around San Joaquin County accepting the drugs, the drop off will be hosted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the police department, 2040 McHenry Ave., and ‘sharps’ will be accepted.

Those planning to attend should remove pills from containers and packaging, consolidate loose pills in a plastic bag, remove personal information from packaging, and the medical ‘sharps’ accepted at Escalon will only be accepted in sealed bio-hazard or other sturdy sealed containers.

More information is available by contacting the San Joaquin County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division, at 468-3066 or by visiting them on the web at www.SJCrecycle.org.

Along with Escalon, the ‘drug drop’ locations will include four sites in Stockton and one site each in Tracy, Lodi, Ripon, Lockeford and Lathrop.
