Daylight Saving Time Ends
clock1

Don’t forget to ‘fall back’ this weekend.

It is the end of Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, Nov. 1 so turn your clocks back an hour before you go to bed on Saturday night. The time change occurs early Sunday morning.

Daylight Saving Time has been in effect this year since Sunday, March 8 – when we were asked to ‘spring ahead’ – and traditionally was designed as a way to allow for light longer in the daytime during the summer, keeping people outdoors. The change back to Standard Time now comes after the Halloween observance, so children aren’t doing all their trick-or-treating in the dark.

Not all regions of the country observe this twice yearly time change, however; Hawaii and Arizona are among the states that do not change from Standard to Daylight Saving Time.

The ‘falling back’ of the clocks in autumn is welcomed by many, who see it as a chance to catch up with an extra hour of sleep on Saturday night.
