The Escalon High School Sports Boosters will be hosting their annual Dinner, Dance and Auction to raise money for all sports teams at EHS, the event set for Saturday, March 11 at the Escalon Community Center with cocktails at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. and dancing after dinner until midnight. Cost is $50 per individual ticket; $400 for a reserved table for eight. Upgrade to a premier table for eight for $450 and receive 20 raffle tickets, wine and dinner service. In addition, $200 will be donated directly to one of 15 sports. One premier table is available per sport. Tickets are now available; contact Melanie McPherrin at 209-603-0172 to purchase yours today. The annual Sports Boosters fundraiser includes a hosted bar, dinner, raffle, live and silent auction and dancing.

Riverbank welcomes the REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. This is a fun way to learn the self-confidence and skills needed for public speaking. All are invited to come and check out the group. The next meeting will be Wednesday, March 1. Joining the Arbor Day Foundation is an ideal way to get in the mood for spring planting. Anyone who joins the Foundation in February 2017 will receive 10 free Colorado blue spruce trees or 10 free redbud trees to plant when the weather turns warm. The free trees are part of the nonprofit Foundation’s Trees for America campaign. To become a member of the Foundation and receive the free trees, send a $10 contribution to Ten Free Colorado Blue Spruce Trees or Ten Free Eastern Redbud Trees, Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE 68410, by Feb. 28, 2017, or visit arborday.org/february.

Don’t forget to stop by and join in at the Escalon Library, 1540 Second St., each Tuesday evening for the new Adult Coloring Club. The fun starts at 5:30 p.m. and the free Coloring Club is open to all adults; bring your own materials or use the ones they have at the library. Coloring is calming, and positive feelings are increased as you relax and focus all your energy on coloring. The program is provided through the Friends of the Escalon Library.

Soroptimist International of Oakdale will host its annual Motor Madness event on Saturday, March 25 beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event will be hosted at Gene Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., Oakdale. Beer, wine, soft drinks and appetizers will be served for those in attendance. A total of 400 tickets will be offered for $100 each, which includes an opportunity to win a Harley Davidson Motorcycle or a cash prize of $10,000. Knights Ferry History Museum and Associates have joined with the Army Corps of Engineers to host the 27th Annual Gold Country Peddlers Faire on Sunday, April 23. The event will be hosted at the Stanislaus River Park, on Covered Bridge Road, Knights Ferry, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A large selection of antiques, handmade crafts and art, as well as food booths will be on hand. Get your tickets early for the upcoming Film ‘Fun’ Raiser for DKG Epsilon Nu Chapter. The event is scheduled for April 27 at the State Theatre, 1307 J St., downtown Modesto. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. on film day for wine, appetizers and raffle drawings. The movie ‘Some Like It Hot’ will be shown starting at 7 p.m. The donation of $25 benefits MJC scholarships, Great Valley Museum, Library Book purchases and the Stanislaus County Office of Education.
