Trinity Church of Escalon’s Clothes Closet is now open to the community one Saturday a month. The closet, which has items for all ages, will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the first Saturday of each month, with the next scheduled opening coming up this weekend, on Jan. 7. There is a wide variety of sizes and styles, items for all ages, for men, women and children. More information about the clothes closet is available by contacting the church at 838-3000. There is no charge to get clothing at the local Clothes Closet.

Delicato Vineyards is hosting its 29th annual Fine Art Show from Wednesday, Jan. 11 through Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017. Artists who would like to participate in the contest are encouraged to bring their entries to the Delicato Tasting Room through Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017. An application may be obtained by phoning, e-mailing, or visiting the Wine Tasting Room in Manteca. It is also posted on the website: www.dfvtastingroom.com. Up to five pieces of art per artist may be entered ($9 per entry) in the competition. The contest is open to entries by the creators of original art produced within the last three years. The Manteca Tasting Room staff will be accepting entries from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Delicato Vineyards is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is on Highway 99, four miles north of Manteca. The public is encouraged to visit the judged art that will be on display throughout the Tasting Room. All art in this show will be available for sale on a first come first sale basis.

Riverbank welcomes the REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. The next Accordion Music and Social gathering of the Good Time Accordion Club is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Escalon Community Center. The center is at 1055 Escalon Ave., Escalon, and there is a $5 admission fee at the door. All accordion fans and performers of all skills levels are welcome. Organizers have tickets available for the annual “Curbside To Go” tri-tip dinner to benefit the EHS Sober Grad event. Tickets are $40 and include a whole barbecued tri-tip, four baked potatoes, a loaf of French bread, a bag of salad and a two-liter bottle of soda. The meal for four is delivered to your car, curbside, at El Portal Middle School the day of the event. The drive-thru dinner is set for Saturday, Jan. 21 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; proceeds help pay for the annual graduation night Sober Grad party put on for members of the senior class at Escalon High School. The 2017 Healthy Air Living Kids’ Calendar is now available and features artwork from 15 talented Central Valley students. This bilingual, full-color wall calendar can be obtained by visiting the Modesto office of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District. The annual educational calendar showcases original works of art chosen from hundreds of entries by children in each of the eight counties that make up the Valley Air District. The 2017 calendars can be reserved, while supplies last, by emailing public.education@valleyair.org, and can be picked up in the District office in Modesto at 4800 Enterprise Way.

Modesto on Ice has returned for its second season to Downtown Modesto, running now until Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017. This family-friendly ice rink offers public sessions, as well as figure skating and hockey lessons. Modesto on Ice also hosts private events.
