John Nilsen, internationally acclaimed pianist, guitarist, vocalist, composer and all around excellent musician, will appear in Escalon again, performing his much anticipated piano concert on Sunday, Aug. 21 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Escalon United Methodist Church (EUMC).

“We are honored and excited to be able to sponsor this concert again and encourage all of our friends and neighbors in the Escalon community to take advantage of this opportunity to see a wonderful musician and hear a great show,” exclaimed EUMC Pastor Peggy Bosch. “As in the past, when John performs in the Sacramento area, he has scheduled a free concert with us here in Escalon. The concert is free, but a goodwill offering will be taken to help defray his expenses. Come join us, bring a friend. You’ll be so glad you did!”

Currently one of the Northwest’s largest selling musical artists, Nilsen’s Magic Wing recording label (which he founded in 1987) has a catalog of 19 successful titles, each with international distribution. Nilsen has also had 15 other CDs licensed in countries including Germany, Great Britain, the Philippines, Canada, Taiwan and Singapore, bringing total record sales to well over one million copies. In 2015 alone, John, who lives with his family in Oregon, performed 250 concerts throughout the USA and Europe. He has earned a devout international following of listeners over the years and to the delight of his fans, his latest album, Local Ocean, will be released this summer.

“When John plays, you can hear the bustle of a French café or the torrent of a raging stream,” Pastor Peggy said. “His music inspires us.”

Light refreshments will be provided following the concert. All are welcome to stay and meet Nilsen afterwards. Escalon United Methodist is at 2000 Jackson Ave., in Escalon.
