Bunco Night Benefit
Join the fun for a good cause at the Saron Lutheran Church Christmas Bunco Night, being held on Friday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m., at the church, 1742 North St., in Escalon. Tickets are on sale for $20 to participate. There will be wonderful winning prizes, a delicious potato bar to enjoy, and tickets for a variety of raffle items. Proceeds from the evening will go to the Escalon Ministerial Association’s Christmas Fund to be used to buy grocery vouchers for those in need during the holidays. Even if you don’t know how to play Bunco, come and see how easy it is to learn and how much fun you will have. Reserve Booth Space
The deadline to sign up as an exhibitor is fast approaching for the annual Boutique and Luncheon hosted by the Farmington United Methodist Women. The event itself is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 25626 E. Elm St., Farmington. There will be handcrafted and homemade items, baked goods, a drawing for a handmade quilt and the homemade soup and pie luncheon will be served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Crafter space is available for those who want to display and sell their handcrafted items. Cost is $25 per space; call Susie at 209-603-3668 to reserve a space or for more information. Deadline to register is Monday, Oct. 23.
Join Trunk Or Treat
The annual Trunk or Treat event at Escalon Covenant Church, 1155 Escalon Ave., is set for Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 5:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is a Fall Festival for all families. Candy, hot dogs, decorated cars, games, music and more. No scary costumes please. Open to families and children of all ages. More information is available by calling the church office at 838-7600.
Holiday Bazaar Upcoming
It’s almost time for the Escalon United Methodist Church holiday bazaar. This year marks the 22nd Annual Holiday Bazaar at the church and is set for Saturday, Oct. 28. Featured will be handmade crafts, gifts and holiday items, needlework, a drawing for a quilt, wood crafts, homemade jams/jellies and frozen ready-to-bake homemade pies. There will also be a soup/pie lunch served as part of the bazaar, with tickets priced at $7 per person. Hours for the event are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the church is at 2000 Jackson Ave., Escalon. Harvest Party Set
The Escalon Christian Reformed Church, 2203 California St., Escalon, will host a Harvest Party later this month. The Harvest Party is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the church. There will be a petting zoo, pizza, games, costumes, contests, and of course, candy. All are welcome to attend.
