Chamber Plans Park Fun
ecc

Sunday in the Park, sponsored by the Escalon Chamber of Commerce, will make its 2017 debut appearance in Main Street Park on June 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Activities for children will include making Father’s Day cards (assisted by Gerri Andrade with Stampin’ Up supplies), planting seedlings for Father’s Day gifts (assisted by Will Hecht from Heck of a Deal with plants provided by Lorina Cajias of Lorina’s Edible Garden), and face painting by Sonya Huff. There will also be coloring books and crayons provided by the Oak Valley Art Society and displays of art works by some of its members.

The Friends of the Escalon Library will be holding a book giveaway, promoting the library’s Summer Reading Club, and providing information on upcoming library programs. For children of all ages there will be popcorn provided by the Escalon Historical Society, tours of the caboose, music by Rich Olds, and grilled hot dogs donated by Mar Val with condiments provided by Heinz Escalon.

Throughout the park there will be displays of classic automobiles owned by members of the Modesto Regional Horseless Carriage Club. All children making Father’s Day cards will receive a coupon good for a Father’s Day frozen treat at the Big Dipper provided by owner Brittney Morino. All are encouraged to come out and enjoy this family day of fun.
