Literally, in the calm before the storm, honeybees buzzed into action in the rural area outside Escalon on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 16. With a rare sunny day, temperatures soaring toward 70, the bees took advantage of the good weather to get out and get some work done before a major storm system arrived on Friday, bringing heavy rains and high winds.
