Escalon Chamber of Commerce is in the midst of a busy week, helping to sponsor a Saturday Garden Tea party just a couple of days after hosting a downtown mixer.

The next Escalon Chamber of Commerce mixer and ribbon cutting is planned for today, Wednesday, April 13 at the Escalon Library, 1540 Second St. Hours for the gathering are 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is in conjunction with welcoming new Chamber member Aflac to the local organization. Aflac representatives Sandi Girard and Dave Macintosh are scheduled to be on hand and the ribbon cutting will officially celebrate their chamber membership. All are welcome to attend; bring business cards to enter for prize drawings and to network. There will be refreshments provided.

Then, join with the Chamber to support local students at Tea and Trumpets, a garden tea party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 16 with proceeds to help establish new scholarships at Escalon High School.

Tickets are $10 per person and for an additional $5, you can pick your own tea cup to use while there and take it home.

The cost includes unlimited tea, finger snacks, desserts, a ‘best hat’ contest, drawings for prizes and music performed by local high school students. Some special surprise guests will also make an appearance.

Call for tickets or more information, Sonya at 484-4465 or Debbie at 402-0505.

“There is a definite need for scholarships based on Art and Music,” said Huff. “This event will help establish two new scholarships in those specific areas.”
