American Legion Hosting Saturday Night Dinners
American Legion

A special program of the Escalon American Legion Gustafson Thompson Post, organizers are inviting the community to their once a month dinners. The gatherings started in 2019 and were hosted several times during the year. In 2020, the first of the dinners was served up on Jan. 18 as a ‘Soup and Stew Night’ and officials said there were nearly five dozen people attending.

The dinners are free, though donations to the Legion post are accepted.

Being scheduled for the third Saturday of the month, the next dinner is set for this weekend, Saturday, Feb. 15 starting at 5 p.m. at the Legion meeting hall on Second Street.

This month will be ‘Italian Night’ and all in the community are encouraged to attend. Officials said they just want to offer a dinner to the community and enjoy hosting the event in the renovated post rooms, with both Legion Post and American Legion Riders members taking part in putting on the monthly event.
