There will be plenty of homemade ice cream to enjoy soon at the Escalon United Methodist Church, with volunteer scoopers helping serve up the sweet treat at the 2018 event. Mark the calendar for Saturday, Aug. 10 and plan to enjoy the annual ice cream social hosted by the church at 2000 Jackson Ave., Escalon, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Along with the homemade varieties of ice cream, there will be a number of dessert options, from brownies to pie and cake. No cost to attend; donations are accepted.
