Joe Luis
Joe Luis entered into rest peacefully on June 28, 2018 surrounded by his family at the age of 89. He was born April 26, 1929 in Stockton, Ca to Antonio and Jovita Luiz and has been a lifelong resident of Stockton.
Joe married the love of his life, Anna C. Pereira in 1952, together they raised four beautiful children. Joe worked as a Dairyman almost his entire life. He was a member of The Dairyman’s Association, a Board Member of C.P.S.C of Stockton, parishioner of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Holy Cross of Linden, a founding father of The Azores Band Hall in Escalon and was a volunteer fireman for the Collegeville Fire Department.
Joe leaves behind his loving wife Anna of 66 years, his children: Joseph Luis, JoAnna Luis-Tucker (Jerry), Elizabeth Enberg (Thomas), Jennifer Read (Gary), his four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, along with his sister, Jovita Parreira from the Azores. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Johnny Luis and Tony Luis.
Deegan Chapel is honored to serve the Luis family. A viewing is scheduled for Monday, July 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ripon with recitation of the rosary beginning at 10:30 followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m.
