San Joaquin County is planning a new 120-acre regional park near Tracy, designed to provide a wide range of recreational, educational, and community opportunities – and officials say your voice matters in shaping its future.

Residents are being invited to take a short survey to share thoughts on what amenities and features they’d like to see in the new South County Regional Park and their support for park maintenance funding.

The survey only takes a few minutes to complete, visit the San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation website for additional information.

The park land, located on the northern edge of Tracy between North Tracy Boulevard and the Delta area (known as the Sugar Cut), offers a perfect location to complement nearby parks like Legacy Fields. The new South County Regional Park will be designed to enhance the well-being of the community by providing a space where residents can connect with nature, learn, play, and celebrate.

The plan will aim to work collaboratively with the public to ensure that the planned park is not only a destination for recreation, but also a hub for education and gathering, promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle for all ages.

In other parks news, residents are reminded that Micke Grove Regional Park’s Japanese Garden will be closed to the public through July 27 for much-needed repairs of the Tea Pavilion. The garden will reopen on Monday, July 28.
