Residents look over some of the items available in opportunity drawings to support the Giving Trees program hosted through the Escalon Chamber of Commerce. Set up during the recent Christmas on Main, the effort raised enough funds to help five local families this year. They received all new items including a Christmas tree with lights, tree skirt, ornaments and tree toppers along with a $100 gift card. Each family is also receiving a Christmas Eve meal prepared by MarVal. “We are able to add the dinner because of the overwhelming support purchasing tickets this year,” said Chamber of Commerce representative Jessica Wylie. All items have been delivered and the families were nominated through local schools.
