Members of the Friends of the Escalon Library, also known as FOTEL, are getting ready for a special fundraising event. A Scholastic Book Fair will be hosted at the library, 1540 Second St., from Monday, June 26 through Friday, June 30.

The mission of the Friends of the Escalon Library is to promote public awareness and raise funds to support the services and programs at the library.

Examples of the programs supported by the Friends group include: Summer and Winter reading including prizes, special events, books and culminating parties; a Cookbook Club, Bellringers and Winter Wonderland concerts, monthly crafts, Teen DIY projects, a regularly scheduled storytime, Science Saturdays, Makerspace and STEAM activities and more.

Funds raised through the book fair will help support these ongoing efforts.

On Monday, June 26 there will be an early bird preview for the Scholastic Book Fair at 9:30 a.m.; with a special book fair storytime being offered at 10:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, June 26 through 29. Those that can’t attend the book fair in person can order books from the fair online from June 26 through July 9.
