The Friday night football games originally on the schedule at Calaveras have been moved to Escalon.

With fires burning in both Tuolumne and Calaveras counties, some road closures and resulting poor air quality, officials made the decision to move the contest to Escalon from San Andreas, where Calaveras High School is located.

Varsity head coach Andrew Beam said the Calaveras team was able to secure transportation and the Cougars will host the Aug. 27 games, with the JV kickoff at 5 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.
