Final Monthly Market Place Slated Saturday
holiday

The next Market Place on Poplar in Oakdale is set for Saturday, Dec. 2 and will be the last scheduled event for 2023. It will begin at 8 a.m. but will close down early at 2 p.m., because of the scheduled Downtown Christmas Parade, which will be on Poplar Street and continue into the downtown area.

“Many holiday events are happening that day, so we would like to encourage everyone to come early and start at our event,” said spokesperson Nancy Podolsky. “We have great breakfast items; seems we have the best biscuits and gravy in the area. Our lunch items this month include our ‘blue plate special’ of a full turkey dinner. So, if anyone missed having leftovers, there will be another chance for a turkey dinner at the Market Place.”

Hosted the first Saturday of each month at the Community United Methodist Church in Oakdale, the Market Place has had a strong run this year. For the December date, coordinators said there is a full house of vendors with a variety of holiday gift items. The event is staged both indoors and outdoors and the church is at 1480 Poplar St., Oakdale.

Remember, revised hours for the Dec. 2 finale are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
