Fatal Hit And Run Under Investigation

A pedestrian was struck and killed early Monday morning, Jan. 30, along Highway 120 west of Escalon.

The California Highway Patrol is asking for help in solving this fatal hit and run.

According to the CHP, at about 5:38 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, the Stockton Communications Center was notified of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle, near Highway 120 and French Camp Road.

When CHP officers arrived on scene, emergency personnel that had responded were performing CPR on the pedestrian. The accident site was in the 20000 block of State Highway 120, between Von Glahn Avenue and Hazelhurst Road, west of Van Allen Road.

At 6:12 a.m. the pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene.

“The driver of the motor vehicle fled the scene,” said CHP Public Information Officer Ruben Jones.

CHP officers located some light assembly pieces at the scene and were able to determine the suspect vehicle was a 2005 to 2007 Ford Focus.

“The crash happened in front of the Parks Wholesale Nursery,” Jones indicated.
