On Friday, September 21st, I was able to mark an item off of my 'Bucket List.' I actually saw the Endeavour fly by Farmington. Ed and I drove the golf cart down behind JB Golf Course, so as to have a nice clear view of the sky. The sky was nice and clear, we could even see Mt Diablo from our location. We waited and waited. Finally after approximately 45 minutes, we saw other aircraft was flying overhead. We thought maybe it had gone in a different direction, as we knew the airspace should have been clear. We gave up and drove back home. We thought apparently it either went another direction or we had missed it. I was so disappointed. Ed had gone into the house, but I hadn't given up. I stayed out looking skyward, hoping and hoping. Then there it was. I was so excited and had to run to the house and call for Ed to get outside. It was huge. We saw the 747 jet and the Space Shuttle, what a sight. We tried to take pictures, but the camera is too complicated that I only know how to turn it on and press the button to take a plain picture. But, I saw the Endeavour. If we had stayed in our first location, we would have been a little closer. But you know the saying 'could of,' 'would of,' 'should of.' I sure hope some of the Farmington residents saw it too. This was such a 'History in the Making' moment for me, right before my eyes!
