Saturday will feature a couple of different events for residents, able to shop at one and sip at the other.

Scheduled first, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farmington United Methodist Church, it’s the Fall Fling, with a wide variety of vendors.

A portion of the ‘fling’ will focus on yard sale items, with new-to-you treasures ranging from furniture to kitchen supplies, collectibles, clothing, knick knacks and more. Area vendors and artisans are expected to be a part of the event as well, and some local clubs will have displays on site. A third component for the Fall Fling will be a craft sale with handcrafted and handmade items for sale, perfect for gift giving at the holidays. Food will be available and music performed as part of the day as well.

The church is at 25626 Elm St., Farmington. For vendor or club information or to make yard sale donations, call Joni at 209-351-7546.

In the evening, Escalon will be the setting for the popular Wine and Brew Stroll hosted by the Escalon Chamber of Commerce. Staged along a portion of Main Street downtown, this is an event for those 21 and over only. Tickets are available at $35 per person and the stroll is scheduled to run from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Wine, craft brews and a variety of hors d’oeuvres will be served up. The stroll also typically features music and some prize drawings; a perfect evening to say goodbye to summer and usher in the fall season.

Looking ahead to the fall, the Chamber is currently planning its Harvest on Main program for Sunday, Oct. 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the harvest-themed gathering will include pumpkin carving and decorating, a car decorating contest, Halloween crafts and the annual costume contest at 1:30 p.m.
