The Escalon Senior Fun Bunch celebrated its second birthday, on August 11, with a theme of Hats and Floats. Members and guests wore hats that brought back special memories and reminisced about them while sipping on root beer floats.
Mayor Ed Alves was on hand to answer questions about city issues, and Councilman Robert Swift was recognized for his help and support of the Escalon Senior Fun Bunch. Patrick Wolak, the newly appointed Escalon Caboose Docent, spoke about the Santa Fe caboose which is located at the Main Street Park. Patrick also led the group in a unique Escalon Trivia game, written by members of the Escalon Historical Museum. Evelyn Swass and Dorothy Miller gave a brief presentation about the museum.
Escalon Senior Fun Bunch events are scheduled the third Wednesday of each month at the Escalon Community Center. The events are fun, free, and open to all senior citizens. For more information call Ann Shaddix at (209) 505-7854.
